Allgemeine Überlegungen
Was soll gesichert werden? Um das zu betrachten unterscheiden wir 2 große Gruppen. Programme, die gekauft werden und von denen man Disketten oder eine CD-ROM besitzt und Daten, die von uns selbst erstellt werden, wie zum Beispiel Briefe mit der Textverarbeitung und Tabellen mit der Tabellenkalkulation oder Datenbanken mit dem Datenbankprogramm. Neuerdings muss wohl als dritte Gruppe, die aus dem Internet geladenen Dateien beachtet werden.. Obwohl diese Dateien erneut geladen werden können, ist Vorsicht angeraten. Das neu Laden kann schwierig sein, weil die Dateien durch Neue ersetzt wurden oder durch Änderungen auf der Webseite nicht mehr vorhanden sind oder die Webseite nicht mehr besteht.. Nach der Installation speichere ich daher die geladenen Dateien in einem weit untergliederten Verzeichnis "Neu Programme".
Zur Auswahl
Programme sichern:
Natürlich können wir sagen: " Da wir Programme auf Disketten und CD-ROM besitzen, brauchen wir sie nicht zu sichern". Das wäre aber nur die halbe Wahrheit. Denn nicht nur Betriebssysteme sonder auch viele Programme werden dem Rechner nach der Installation angepasst und erzeugen dabei Dateien, deren Verlust besonders schmerzlich wäre. Man denke an Registrierung, mühsam erarbeitete Funktionsparameter usw.
Ein Thema für sich sind die Dateien der Betriebssysteme von DOS mit Autoexec.bat und Config.Sys über die *.Ini und *.GRP Dateien von Windows bis zur Registry von WIN9x. Ein anderes Thema sind Programmergänzungen und Verbesserungen. Wird das Programm neu installiert, so müssen alle diese ebenfalls neu installiert werden, was einer guten Dokumentation und zusätzlichen Aufwand bedeutet.
